Ancient beauty secrets that still work today. First is sugar, it’s great for removing unwanted body hair.  Women of ancient Egypt removed body hair by using a method called sugaring.  Sugaring removes hair from the roots, so that it is softer when it grows back. This method still works today and is easy to do. One of the main reasons people loved sugaring so much is because it is less painful than waxing.

Mung Beans

Ancient Chinese Empress’s would use mung beans to help them with their acne.  Mung beans have powerful vitamins and proteins which makes it ideal for inexpensive face masks. Chinese Empress’s would mash the mung beans until it made it paste. They would then put the paste on their face to help soothe and heal their acne. If you want to try this ancient  secret for yourself make sure to use fresh organic pesticide free mung beans.

Rose Water

If you’ve never used rose water in your beauty routine, then you’re missing out. Rose water is considered one of the world’s oldest beauty secrets from the ancient Egyptians. They will use rose water on their skin as far back as 3500 BC, in base creams to perfumes. The Romans noticed it’s amazing moisturizing properties and would use it on their skin during harsh winters.

Saffron Oil

Cleopatra was know for her natural beauty, fair skin and glamours taste from decorating the floors of her palace with rose petals. She would bathe in milk, but one of  favorite beauty secrets was saffron oil.  She would add  saffron oil to her milk baths to keep her skin glowing. You can have Cleopatra’s glow for yourself, by combining saffron oil with coconut oil. Then add the mixture to your nighttime beauty routine.

Mint

It’s hard to believe that something that is known to freshen breath, can also make your skin glow. Ancient Chinese women would use fresh mint leaves to make their skin glow, because it is so cheap it made the perfect cost effective beauty secret. Chinese women would brighten their skin by grinding mint leaves and applying them directly to their face. They would also make a mask using mint, cucumber, and honey.  This mixer is perfect the toning skin.

Honey

Not only is honey tasty, but is has some amazing moisturizing properties.  Cleopatra included it in several of her beauty products to keep her skin soft.  She would also mixed honey and castor oil as a hair treatment.

Sea Salt

It seems nearly impossible to walk through a mall without someone trying to sell you a sea salt scrub, but there is a good reason. Sea salt is perfect for sloughing off dead skin and can even help cellulite. Ancient Japanese Geishas are admired for their timeless beauty and they also use sea salt in their beauty routine to keep skin firm and break down fat.

Coconut Oil

It’s no secret that coconut oil is good for everything, from cooking to body lotion. Women  in South Asia have been using coconut oil for years. They use it on their scalps to maintain gorgeous hair. Coconut oil is used everywhere these days, this ancient beauty secret is easy to use at home. Use a spoonful of coconut oil through your hair and let it sit for an hour then completely rinse the oil out.

Jade Roller

Ancient Chinese women believe Jade rollers help target their faces acupressure points. By rolling the jade stone on their face it would improve blood circulation and remove toxins from their bodies. Chinese women still believe that the jade roller can improve skin tone.

Cabbage Leaves

cabbage leaves

Hundreds of years ago, women would use cabbage leaves the help relieve inflammation and pain associated with nursing a baby. They would take cold raw cabbage leaves and cut them around the sensitive areas. Then they would press the cabbage leaves down for 20 minutes or until they became warm. Scientists aren’t sure why cabbage helps relieve this type of pain, but surprisingly this age old method is still used today.

♥️Every trial we endure is meant to be a lesso ♥️Every trial we endure is meant to be a lesson to build our perseverance and faith. ♥️How you choose to handle those trials speaks volumes about your past ♥️ Do you panic? Do you despair? Or do you pray in faith knowing all things work together for good for those who love God? ♥️ We are all human. We all experience heartache, disappointment and failure. ♥️ We all make mistakes and fall short of God’s glory. Choose to handle the valley with grace. ♥️ Rather than asking, “why is this happening to me?” Ask, “What should I be learning?” ♥️ I’m no stranger to hard times and heartbreak. I’ve walked many valleys wondering why I have to endure yet another trial. ♥️But as I look back on my life, I realize how strong I’ve become because of those same valleys. ♥️ God isn’t deaf to your prayers. He hears you. Sometimes in His perfect love, He will remain silent for a moment so that you can learn. ♥️ Happy Sunday
